Today, kurtas have reached heights of modernism, as well as many a Kurta style have kept to the Indian style and tradition. There is a growing need by the modern Indian girl to keep the Indian feel of the Kurta while at the same time mix this with the western fashion. This is especially true when one wants to go out to an event where there is a mixture of both cultures represented.

A Kurta is basically a long top which is mostly adorned in the Indian culture but can be made to look Western by the choice of print and patterns that are used in designing it. So for this western look one can wear a Kurta over jeans with sandals that match the long top but without the bangles.

You can also choose to wear a plain Chickan Kurta with no prints but which has subtle colors over tights or a salwar. With this you may adorn in a few bangles perhaps one or two in gold or silver which go absolutely great with any colored Kurta or Salwar.
